Today was a very filled day hahah.
1. Meet JoLee in the morning 11am for shpding
2. Dance @ Toapayoh area at 1pm
3. Cg at BK Orchard Emerald at 240pm.
4. Shirley's CL prayer meet at 4pm.
5. Tuition at 8pm.
6. Camp planning 10pm onwards.
How pro luh today. HAHA.
Anyway, I enjoyed everything I did today :D
Well, maybe except tuition, but it was quite good towards the end cos I wasn't as sleepy.
Anw, today's dance rocked la! Hahah.
There was a new instructor, Awi, from SOUL superband. (just had to add that in)
Normally it's Justis (from SOUL superband also), but today he couldn't make it, so got substitute.
Haha anw, I like his style :D :D
Easier than Justis' but nice lol.
I must rmb today's choreo!! Hahah.
It's to Disturbia-Rihanna.
Anyway, I feel very encouraged/motivated/proud of the crew I'm with.
Hehheh. As in..
Cos Justis said before a few times, like he enjoys teaching us, and loves us because we will really try our best.
Haha as much as that might seem very typical, but I think it really comes out of sincerity too.
Like, even today, in his sms he mentioned that he loves teaching our grp.
I might think sometimes, "it's just to please us", or "aiya, typical"... Those kinda thoughts.
But yknow, somehow I'm quite convinced that he does enjoy us to a certain extent.
Not that I think we're the most fun and awesome people,
but I sincerely feel that there's this joy from him when he teaches us.
These kinda things, you can feel but hard to explain kind yknow? Hahah.
Like you can feel if someone is secretly hating you by their body language, but you can't really state the evidence of their body language, cos it might just mean another thing.
Yeah same thing.
Him repeating the part abt how he loves us also shows something..
He sorta got influenced by Jiali by the talking part.
As in, she talks to us as a group quite abit, like about dance, techniques and stuff luh.
And he must've been long around enough to get influenced by her.
Cos during the lesson quite a while back, he started telling us about techniques and angles to bend those kinda thing. Haha.
And I think he got influenced by us in dressing too heh.
I heard when he first came to teach, he dressed very bombastically. Haha.
I mean, superband what..
Go search his photos and you'll know what I mean.. Haha.
Yeah, but I think, cos for all our sessions, we wear track pants, old shirts that are loose and really unglam stuff luh (but we change out).
I think after seeing how we weren't affected by looks or dressing etc,
he got influenced too, and dresses more normally now. Haha.
It might be too big a judgement for me to make.. But I feel that we did play a part in how he dresses now too.
Anw today Awi was saying that Justis told him some stuff about us, dont know about what uh, but it sounded like it was good stuff by the way he talks to us (:
So yeah, my point being, I'm starting to see how Ydance is different from any other dance group, and how we're driven to dance by a different source.
Ok it sounds rather scary and spiritual, and like as if we're being possessed or smth.
But, I think that's the core principle in all of us uh.
Although we might get lost in it somehow somewhere, but this is what drives us, and will drive us in the right track.
And, really man..
I think if we dance for Him and live for Him, people can see it.
Yknow what I mean?
I mean like...
I'm quite amazed, that he is amazed by us and our effort to learn.
Normally dance teachers just teach and students learn those kind.
But, he actually said something about it!
What I am thinking is:
Dance becomes more than just dance, because we have the God element in us.
And I think people can really feel and catch something from that.
Like they'd be thinking smth like "There's something different about these people that make them so admirable/interesting, but I just can't figure out what...."
And these comes even when
- we are not professional dancers
- we might not even have the experience that others outside might have
- we dont have any background
And really man, this is how we influence others.
Even in minor things.
Like us for example, we could just slack around and give up when the routine is hard.
But few of us do that, in fact, none of us did as far as I know,
and I believe it's because of what we have: That passion for dancing For God, regardless of how fearful we might be.
(I mean, that's why we're even in this ministry)
And because of this little things we do in being salt and light, people can really see, how Christians who live their lives for God are really different from the rest.
I dont know man, but this suddenly hit me just now.
When I was on my way around on public transport.
And I think I'm starting to see how I can dance for God.
(I feel very weird saying it cos I really still... dance like crap.. haha)
And, this whole thing, it's not just about the final product presented on stage.
How we're doing it For God comes with the process.
When we go about learning it, every single session of practice.
That is the biggest part about doing it for God.
I mean, logically its true also.
Practicing takes 1000x more effort and time than compared to what is shown on stage.
Stage time is probably about 5mins or more or smth?
So to glorify God in practice is one thing,
impacting people on stage is a totally different thing.
And I suddenly feel very scared now hahaha.
Cos I just scared myself with what's to come on the 24th Dec..
Oh well, do correct me if I'm wrong in any parts.
Because I'm really just typing what I feel. So yeah ^^
I thank God for this thought that came into my mind!!
It's a very assuring thing (:
Jiayou to all of us Ydancers out there!!!!
Teehee, everyone plays an impt role.
Woohoo!!!
I'm feeling very excited slowly slowly (:
Cos in a few days time, it's gonna be HEROES CAMP!!!!
Then again, I hate that feeling when you're in camp that dies down after camp..
I must make this camp different from the previous camp!!
Follow up, post camp HAHA.
Yeah anywayyyyyyyyyyyyy goodnight! :D
Off to do other stuff that I was supposed to start doing first..
